What Do They Have in Common?

Often people relocating to Charlottesville, VA will call our office or contact The Chase Team from our Charlottesville real estate website. One of the first things they ask is; “tell us about the area.” They also inquire about Charlottesville area schools and ask about interesting things for their family to do once they move to Charlottesville. Quite often we talk about dining opportunities in the Charlottesville area too. It seems everybody is a foodie these days whether you love to cook or dine out.

Yummy Home Grown Veggies!

If you’re new(er) to the Charlottesville area and you’re tired of stale over priced supermarket fruits and veggies, there is hope for you! You’ll be happy to know every Saturday morning from the first Saturday in April to the last Saturday in October you can visit the Charlottesville Farmers Market for those fresh, home grown veggies! Yummy!

Jammed Up & Jelly Tight!

Located in downtown Charlottesville on Water Street between First Street and Third Street the City Market opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 12:00 noon. The market offers home grown fruits, veggies, live plants, flowers, herbs, meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products, homemade baked goods, honey, jam, jellies, highly acidic canned goods, jewelry, clothing and lots of other craft items. These items are produced on our local Albemarle County estate and farm properties, not to mention a few backyards in and around the City of Charlottesville.

The Charlottesville City Market

The Charlottesville City Market was started in 1973 and is sponsored by Charlottesville Parks & Recreation. All meat and poultry products are in compliance with USDA and VDA consumer services.

Surprises Abound at the Charlottesville City Market!

There are, on average, 90 vendors who participate each week. You will be surprised at what comes from the estate and farm properties, not to mention backyards of Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville. There is not just produce available, nor just arts and crafts, a number of local artisans also display their art for sale.

Farmers in the Park!

If you can’t make it to the Charlottesville City Market on Saturdays, there is “Farmers in the Park” at Meade Park on Meade Avenue in Charlottesville. This market is open from the last Wednesday in May to the last Wednesday in September from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You will find a lot of the same vendors here as well.

The Holiday City Market

If you are looking for unusual holiday gifts, decorations or holiday goodies, the City of Charlottesville also has a Holiday City Market beginning the first Friday and Saturday in November and ending the weekend before Christmas Day. The Holiday City Market is located on the East end of the Downtown Mall and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
